Great News!!!!

Esther had her scan yesterday and got the results today during her 4th round of chemo. The doctor said that the mass in her lungs has been reduced by 75%!!!

The mass in her pelvis has no change but that was expected. The doctor expected that area to be the last to see a reduction. They plan to finish the remainder of her chemo treatments and then see how things are going.

Your prayers are working and are SO much appreciated! Thank you so much! Please keep them up!

Round Three!!

The second round of chemo had caused Esther to lose some weight and also caused her white blood cell count to drop. But, she went in for her 3rd round on March 3rd and the doctor said she was doing well. She is dealing with some side effects but all the prayers and messages are helping! Thank you!!

Her CAT scan is scheduled for March 23, 2009. This will let them know how well the chemo is working. So, please keep up the prayers! After the results from this scan come back, they will let her know if she'll get to go back to work following the 4th treatment. She is very anxious to get back to work!

Thanks again to everyone for your prayers, letters, cards, messages, donations, time, etc!

Esther's Update

Esther is doing well! She has been able to eat normally and hasn't had any nausea! We're so happy! She met with the nutrionist today. The nutrionist said that she was able to eat whatever she wanted. She especially wanted her to focus on eating a lot protein. Several people have asked to bring her meals. If you'd like to assist with meals please let me know and I'll start a calendar.

Again, thanks so much to everyone for all your help!! If you have any questions or would like to bring a meal, please email me at jpouls1@gmail.com or leave a comment. Thank you!!

Esther's 1st Dose of Chemo

Esther completed her first dose of chemotherapy today. She was at the doctor's office for six hours. The doctor said that she did great! She is home now and feeling ok. Over the next ten days we'll begin to see what kind of side effects she will have. During this time, it's really important for her to rest. So, we're asking for all her friends and family to send her notes on this blog. We'll keep the blog updated and let everyone know when she's ready for visitors again.

The doctor told her today that she will have six rounds of chemotherapy. After she completes the third round they will do another scan to see how her body is responding. Her next dose is on February 10.

She has really enjoyed and appreciated all the notes from everyone! Thanks to everyone for your help and support!
